Twitter’s IPO announcement came in style as a Tweet from the company. Secondary sales of Twitter stock have valued the company at upwards of about $10 billion. The hype around Twitter’s IPO will be the largest since Facebook , which went public in May, 2012, but cratered almost immediately after pricing.

Following its IPO announcement Twitter introduced a new feature that will help verified users better manage their Twitter conversations! Verified users can filter their Twitter mentions within the “Connect” tab above their feed. Mentions are in three separate categories: all, filtered, and verified. The idea is to help those users identify the conversations that may be most important to them by sifting out the spam.

Facebook Tests Silent Auto-Play For User Videos In Mobile Feed
In a test that could make News Feed more engaging and pave the way for video ads, Facebook’s mobile feed will start auto-playing user-uploaded videos in-line when they’re scrolled over for a small subset of US iOS and Android users. Videos play silently until tapped to full-screen, which feels slick. Facebook is expected to soon launch a new video ad unit, which might draw on this test’s feedback.

Android-based microconsole Gamestick to be released!
The Gamestick is an Android-based console that connects to a TV using an HDMI dongle. The microconsole fits directly into the controller, making it highly portable. It will be available from October 29th for $79.99 / £79.99 in the U.S. and the UK and gradually other territories.
